hahahahahahaha this is all headcanon everyone watch out im about to dirkjake
this memory is of the very very beginning of dirk and jake's relationship when all the dirkjake was still good and not completely awful. jake spends an awkward, hesitant couple of weeks trailing after dirk after the decapitated headkissing spectacular (that's not pictured so jake does NOT remember kissing dirk's bloodied head. he only remembers feeling really awkward around dirk, will probs assume it's because he's crushing on him). they spend pretty much all their time together but jake is extremely reluctant to touch dirk even in a friendly way because he's hella freaked out by his feelings and dirk feelings and he nearly jumps out of his skin whenever they bump and stuff.
after a particularly difficult and exciting strife against some skeleton imps, he's so happy and relieved to be safe with dirk and so stressed from how awkward and tense everything has been between them and so pumped with adrenaline that he just
grabs dirk and kisses him
and then a very frantic smooch session happens and thus begins their pretty happy boyfriend times. and dirk seems to be really happy and that makes jake happy and also dirk is very attractive and kissing him is good stuff. they adventure date on LOTAK and LOMAX, going on their tomb raids, making out in the tombs, strifing skeletons and each other and making out some more, basically everything is cool and great and wonderful, everything is kawaii in boyfriendo land, etc. lots and lots of romance.
